Moher is a psychedelic folk band based on Jeju Island, South Korea, bringing together singer-songwriter e_so, who was born and raised on Jeju, and Minkyu Jo, who began his musical journey as a busker in Ireland. They weave an intricate soundscape with Irish bouzouki, acoustic guitar, and contrasting vocals, evoking waves crashing on rugged cliffs — a poetic meeting of two distant yet kindred islands. Formed by a chance encounter in Thailand, the band takes its name from the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, meaning ‘broken fort’ in Gaelic. Following their debut album Kaleidoscope, which won Best Folk Album at the 22nd Korean Music Awards, they released their second full-length album From the Deep and Dark on May 28, 2026.
